– Why should I choose HQ Company Tour over other companies? Though HQ Company Tour is a new company, our guides have a great experience. We have been operating tours in the Normandy region for 9 years. For example, Mickaël worked for many years at the Caen Memorial (which is the biggest museum in the region) for several years, and Yannick worked for the American Battle Monuments Commission at the Normandy American cemetery. You will enjoy our dedication and passion for our tours!
– Is it safe to book a tour on your website? Yes! It’s totally safe. Our website is protected and we added for you all the security features and protections. Our credit card transactions are encrypted. Our online bill payment service is backed by our bank, that provides the safest and most reliable way to book with us.
– I would like to book over the phone, is it possible? Yes! It’s possible. Our office is open every day at +33 250 550 074, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (GMT+1), 7 days a week. Please do not forget the time difference when calling from a foreign country.
– How do I get to Normandy from Paris? The best way to go to Normandy is by train. Several trains run everyday from Paris Saint Lazare train station to Caen or Bayeux. Here is the link to book your train: SNCF – Timetables, Trains, Traffic, Services, International | SNCF. Bear in mind that we offer transfer from Paris to Normandy from 670€ per vehicle.
– Where should I stay? Our recommendation is to stay in Bayeux. It’s a cute medieval town with a lot of hotels, restaurants and museums. The train ride for Paris is only 2 hours. Located in the middle of the landing sectors, Bayeux is the most convenient place to stay. It would be unfair to recommend only one hotel or BnB; therefore, take a look at our list.
– What is the maximum number of participants on your group tours? We like to keep our groups small, that is why the maximum number of participants on our group tours is 8 travellers, for a more personal experience and to allow our visitors to ask freely questions to their guide.
– What is the minimum number of participants on your group tours? For operational reasons, we need a minimum of 2 participants for a group tour to take place.
–Cancellation/no-show: If you have any troubles getting on time for your tour let us know. (phone number: +33 250 550 074, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., 7 days a week). If you don’t show up on time on the day of the tour, we will have no other choice but to charge you 100%.
For any cancellation, see our Terms and Conditions
– Where and when does my tour start? All of our group tours start at Place de Québec in Bayeux (see map at the bottom of this page). Our full-day D-Day group tours start at 9:00 a.m. Our Mont-Saint-Michel tour starts at 8:00 a.m. Our half-day group tours start at 9:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. For a private tour, we will pick you up at the place where you stay. Please note that for pick-ups and drop-offs more than 20 km away from Bayeux, an extra fee might apply. Let us know the location of your accommodation as soon as you know it so we can adjust the price of the tour.
– Can I bring my luggage? We have a limited space in the van. If you do a group tour and have more than small overnight bags and small backpacks, please contact us. If you are traveling with large suitcases, we advise you also to contact your hotel to arrange for them to store your luggage while you do the tour.
– How should I dress? Do not forget that your tour takes place in Normandy and not in Provence. Weather here is rather humid and windy most of the time. We advise you to wear runners or hiking shoes and warm clothes. Bringing an umbrella and a raincoat would be a wise decision.
– Can I eat in the van? Unfortunately, no. Unless you have a special diet or medical needs, only water is permitted in the van. We recommend you to bring water with you since it is a long tour, especially in the summer.
– Can I bring a wheelchair / stroller? Yes, we will do everything to accommodate you. Due to the limited space in the vehicle, we can only accommodate foldable wheelchairs. However, it is highly recommended to book a private tour if you have limited mobility. In any case, let us know in advance if you plan on bringing a wheelchair.
– I’m traveling with children, can we do the tour with them? It’s important to share History with the younger generations. We can provide a car/booster seat (it’s mandatory in France under 8 years of age) but we advise you to bring your own. However, keep in mind that it’s a long day, mostly outside, and it can be difficult for children, especially infants. We would like you and our other clients to have the best experience during the tour. Therefore, if you are traveling with children we suggest considering taking a private tour.
– How is tipping in France? Tips are welcome in France. Your guide would be happy if you tipped him; it would be a sign that you have appreciated his tour and explanation.
– What if I forget something in the van? We are not responsible for any item left in the vehicle after the tour. If you do realize you have forgotten something in the vehicle, contact us immediately. Unfortunately, if you have left the region or the country, we can send your items via post but the postage costs will be at your expense. Also, please take all of your belongings with you when we leave the vehicle. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items in the vehicle.
– I have had a great experience, where can I leave a review? We would be delighted to hear more from your experience with us. We are registered on Tripadvisor, Get your Guide, Google, Facebook. Feel free to express your feelings about your tour by leaving a review.
– Are you on social media? Yes, you can follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
