After, you will discover the unique site of Pointe du Hoc. Follow in the footsteps of the famous LTC James E. Rudder, who led the 2nd US Ranger Battalion, who scaled the cliffs to destroy a German gun battery that threatened the whole US landing operation. Bomb craters, bunkers, dugouts—come and see this outstanding battlefield.
Then, you will stop for a lunch break in Sainte-Mere-Eglise, a well-known place because an 82nd Airborne Paratrooper got stuck on the church tower, a legendary scene in the movie “The Longest Day.”. Furthermore, discover the magnificent stained glass windows of the church depicting American paratroopers. You will also have the opportunity to explore the gift shop of the Airborne Museum.
